A small island filmmaker with big dreams!
Greetings, fellow movie fans,
My name is Victor Viruet, and I’m a filmmaker at heart. Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of making movies that could touch people’s hearts the way films touched mine. The first one that truly did that was Titanic—its story, visual effects, and unforgettable soundtrack left a deep mark on my young imagination. It was my first cinematic love.
Growing up, I would stay up late watching behind-the-scenes interviews about the latest holiday blockbusters. I created and joined movie clubs to share that joy with others. I was lucky—my parents always supported my passion, and their encouragement gave me the courage to follow my dreams.
I earned my degree from the University of North Texas, where I made lasting friendships and collaborated on YouTube projects that reached over 20,000 views each. I was part of the university’s student news outlet, which was honored with a Lone Star Emmy Award in 2022. One of my proudest moments was working as a Production Assistant on the full-length feature Enredo de Reyes, a project that received significant recognition. I also earned a Best Sound award for the independent short film La Rebelión de la Ficción.
Currently, I’m pushing the envelope of my creativity with Hasta Las Piedras Cantan, a television project broadcast through Punt2 NBCUniversal, as well as Jangueando en el Wikén on WKAQ580 Radio. These have been two of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life, and I’ve grown so much—personally and professionally—through both.
More stories are on the way. More dreams are being built. Thank you to everyone who’s supported me through thick and thin. Your belief in me means the world.
With love,
Victor 💕
